FAQs
-
The mangrove forest in Bonaire is protected and can only be visited with a certified guide.
-
The minimum age is 5 years.
-
Most of the year, the road is accessible, but it does have many bumps and potholes. After heavy rainfall, water may collect on the road. Generally, you won’t encounter issues as long as you stick to the road and avoid trying to bypass puddles.
-
Mosquitoes are more of an exception than the norm. For three-quarters of the year, there are few to no mosquitoes in the mangroves.
-
The center has two toilets and an outdoor shower.
-
Please bring drinking water (we do not sell plastic bottles, but we have a refill station), sun protection (such as protective clothing or sunscreen without oxybenzone), and your Nature Fee payment receipt from STINAPA, which can be digital or on paper. We provide dry bags, masks, and snorkels.
-
Cruise ship passengers are exempt from the Nature Fee. However, we kindly ask that you present your cruise boarding pass.
-
No, they are not the same. The Nature Fee is legally required to access any of Bonaire’s parks, including the underwater park (the sea surrounding Bonaire).
